Head of Corporate Development Paul GoddenThe role of the Corporate Development Department is to support Chief Officers, Area Commanders and Heads of Department in the development of strategy and performance management.

The performances section manages the force’s performance management framework; provides professional advice on performance improvement and quality of service issues; provides a central performance analysis function; conducts internal inspections and audits to improve performance and service delivery; establishes relationships with the HMIC and other external bodies; prepares documentation and evidence to ensure compliance with external   inspections, assessments, statutory requirements and frameworks and carries out data quality audits to assess compliance with the Home Office Counting Rules.

The Strategy and Planning section carries out strategic scanning and research on behalf of the organisation; develops and draft the Force's Strategic Assessment; assists in the development of the Police and Crime Plan; assists in the development, production and monitoring of the Chief Constables Delivery Plan, Joint Equality Plan and the Joint; Strategic Risk Register; produces frameworks and guidance relating to risk management; administers the IIS system; produces and reviews documentation relating to Force instructions.
