'Everything we do is about what matters to you' - that’s the message from Northumbria Police and the Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner as we tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) in your area.

ASB can mean something different to every person and can have a major impact on people's confidence levels. Northumbria Police knows from what the public tell us that ASB is an issue which people are concerned about. It refers to any situation where someone does something which has a harmful affect on another person or group's quality of life, although the one common factor is the effect ASB can have on your quality of life.

'Everything we do is about what matters to you' aims to help people understand what ASB is and encourage them to report it.

Dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour is one of the top priorities for Northumbria's Police & Crime Commissioner, Vera Baird QC, as outlined in the Police & Crime Plan 2013-18.

The Northumbria Police and Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner’s ASB Commitment to you:

  1. ASB is a priority for the Police and Crime Commissioner and Northumbria Police and we will tackle it wherever it is
  2. We want to hear from anyone experiencing ASB. Call 101 to report it.
  3. When you report ASB, you can choose if an officer visits you or talks to you by phone.
  4. Every ASB incident will be taken seriously. We will talk to victims, investigate their concerns and work with other organisations to help stop the problem.
  5. We will give officers background information about the most vulnerable ASB victims so they can deal with them in the best way possible.
  6. We will keep people informed about the progress being made.
  7. We will regularly talk to communities to give them feedback on the way we are dealing with ASB.
