Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)
Thank you for your email dated 23rd April 2012 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
"Full details of allegations of racism made against force employees in each of the last 3 years for which figures are available. I would like the response to include, for each year during the period,
i. The number of allegations made
ii. The nature of each allegation
iii. The rank of the employee facing the allegation
iv. The method of resolving the complaint – ie by preliminary inquiry, internal or external investigation, etc
v. the judgement made – ie guilty or otherwise and
vi. the penalty imposed, where relevant."

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Professional Standards Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I have decided to disclose the located information to you as follows.
The following information was extracted from a Live database and may be subject to the addition and deletion of complaints, complainants and subjects after the initial extraction of data used for the purposes of this report. The following information has been extracted based upon allegations and subjects attached to cases recorded between 01/04/2009 and 31/03/2012. Please note that cases which are Live, Sub Judice or in the appeal period have not been included in this response.
