Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)

Thank you for your email dated  24 April 2012 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked: 

"1. For the years 2009 – our current time in 2012 I am requesting a year by year breakdown of the number of seizures your force has made of crystal methamphetamine, including the size of the seizure.
 
2. For the same years I am requesting a year by year breakdown of the number of times a premise has been searched resulting in the detection of a case of production of crystal methamphetamine in contravention of Section 4 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971."

In response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with both the Crime and Corporate Development Departments of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I have decided to disclose the located information to you in full as follows.

1. A year by year breakdown of the number of seizures of Methylamphetamine and size is as follows:-

2. No information held.  There were no occasions when a premises had been searched as specified by this part of your request.
