Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)

Thank you for your email dated 20 April 2012 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked: 

  1. How many sheep have been stolen between October 1 to March 31 2011/2012?

  2. How many other forms of livestock were stolen between October 1 to March 31 2011/2012?

  3. How many tractors were stolen between October 1 to March 31 2011/2012?

  4. How many All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) i.e quad bikes were stolen between October 1 to March 31 2011/2012?

  5. How much other farm equipment was stolen since October 1 to March 31 2011/2012?

  6. How many thefts of red diesel or fuel in general were there between October 1 to March 31 2011/2012?

In response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I have decided to disclose the located information to you as follows.

This information has been collated using searches on those locations described as a Farm, Farm building, Farmland or Farmyard.

From these searches each record has been viewed to identify those crimes where Sheep, Livestock, Tractors, ATV's, Other farm equipment and Red Diesel / fuel was stolen.  From those returns the following information has been extracted.

  1. 20 Ewes 
    40 Lambs

  2. 3 Golden Pheasants

  3. 0

  4. 14

  5. Generator 
    Forks for lifting pallets 
    Electric fence 
    Energizer equipment 
    Steel sheep pens 
    Cultivation discs 
    Hay collector 
    Crop sprayer 
    5 trailers 
    2 horse boxes
