Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act') 

Thank you for your e mail dated  9 May  2016 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police. 

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions. 

You asked:

Please forward me details of the numbers of child sexual assaults by children on children, including rape which have been reported to police  from Jan 2011 through to 2015

By children, I mean under the age of 16. 

 

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police. 

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

The data is based upon crimes using the following Home Office offence codes and where the victim and suspect were under 16 yrs:

Rape of a female child under 13

Rape of a female child under 16

Rape of a male child under 13

Rape of a male child under 16

Sexual assault on a female aged 13 or over

Sexual assault on a female child under 13

Sexual assault on a male aged 13 and over

Sexual assault on a male child under 13
