Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)

Thank you for your email dated 11 Febuary 2015 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked: 

 Please can you provide me with the following information:

1. Name of financial accounting software system in use in your organisation 
2. Original date of purchase(financial accounting software) 
3. Cost of annual support and maintenance for the financial accounting software system (last financial year) 
4. Other annual spend relating to the financial accounting software system,outside the support and maintenance costs 
5. Number of members of staff involved in the internal support of thefinancial accounting software systemfor users and IT  

In response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the IC&T Department of Northumbria Police. 
I can confirm that the information you have requested is held in part by Northumbria Police.

Northumbria Police currently receives  Financial Services provision and as such does not have an accountancy system of it own. 
I can advise that the name of the sofware used in the provision of this service is Agresso.  
We hold no informtion regarding the remainder of your request  

Due to the different methods of recording information across 43 forces, a specific response from one constabulary should not be seen as an indication of what information could be supplied (within cost) by another.  Systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  For this reason responses between forces may differ, and should not be used for comparative purposes.
