Thank you for your email dated 10 October 2014 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
Please provide the following information:
1. The number of Airwave radio losses in 2013 / 2012 / 2011
2. How Many Devices were recovered?
In this request please interpret "Airwave radio" as any device capable of transmitting/receiving across the TETRA Airwave radio
system, as provided by Airwave Solutions Limited.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the IC&T Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.
2011 9 lost and not found
10 lost and found
2012 10 lost and not found
14 lost and found
2013 7 lost and not found
6 lost and found
2 found from previous year
Once a terminal is confirmed as lost/stolen that terminal will be removed from the Airwave network.
Due to the different methods of recording information across 43 forces, a specific response from one constabulary should not be seen as an indication of what information could be supplied (within cost) by another. Systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data. For this reason responses between forces may differ, and should not be used for comparative purposes.
