Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)
Thank you for your email dated 17 January 2012 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
When I refer below to the number of "tickets" effectively I mean punishments generated - this could be a speed awareness course or it could be three points. (The 'ticket' could also subsequently be successfully appealed or as yet unresolved because the case has gone before the court).
The total number of speeding tickets issued in 2011 by speed cameras. This refers to ‘yellow boxes’ and motorway average speed cameras. It excludes police officers using a speed camera. I am interested in the number of tickets issued and not the number of fines collected.
Please provide the same for 2010.
Please provide the same for 2009.
Please provide the same for 2008.
(a) The total number of speed cameras in 2011. Please break this down – eg Gatso (analogue with film), average speed camera on a motorway, digital speed camera etc.
(b) Please state how many of these, if any, were not active AT ALL in 2011 – no fines were collected.
