Record Retention Rules

Northumbria Police recognises the need to ensure that information is available when and where it is needed, in an organised and efficient manner, and in a well-maintained environment. This is to comply with the Management of Police Information Code of Practice as set out in the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Code of Practice on the Management of Records under Section 46 of the Freedom of the Information Act 2000.
