Aggravated burglary in Sandyford

Police are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Sandyford.

Between 4pm and 4:30pm on Friday, April 1, a man tried to get inside a property in Doncaster Road and was disturbed by the occupant.

An altercation took place in the doorway area of the property and the intruder assaulted the resident before fleeing.

The victim sustained minor injuries to her legs as a result of the incident.

The offender is described as being white, aged around 19 to 20 years old, 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build. He had blonde hair was wearing a blue denim jacket and dark bottoms.

At the time of the incident there was a man walking in Doncaster Road who may have witnessed the incident and might have information that could help with the inquiry.

Police are appealing for this man, or anyone who was in the area at the time of the burglary and who saw anything, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 484 03/04/16.
