Police are appealing for information after an incident of indecent exposure in Hexhamshire.

It happened at 2.20pm on Tuesday, April 26 in Healey Woods, near Riding Mill. A man approached a 57-year-old woman as she was walking her dog and exposed himself to her.

He is described as being a white man, aged in his early 50's, of large build and around 6ft tall. He had short grey hair and was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with grey trousers.

Enquiries to identify the man are on-going and anyone with information to help is asked to contact police.

Neighbourhood Inspector, Kevin Oates, said "The woman was left upset by what happened and as soon as the report came into us we had officers in the area making enquiries and searching the area. This appears to be an isolated incident, however, I would urge people in the area to be vigilant

"I'd like to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area and seen anyone matching the description or acting suspiciously to contact us with that information. We will have officers revisiting the area."
