Attempted robbery in Castletown

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery at a shop in Sunderland.

The incident happened on Thursday, December 29 at 5.30am in the morning at the Premier Shop in Ethel Terrace in Castletown. A man went into the shop armed with a golf club and threatened a member of staff.

The member of staff was not injured and the offender made off empty handed.

Officers are carryingout enquiries and appealing for witnesses.
