91 year old pedestrian injured in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between a car and a pedestrian on Jubilee Road, Gosforth.

The incident took place at around 8.38pm on Thursday, April 6.

The 91 year old victim was taken to hospital and her condition is described as critical.

Part of Jubilee Road was closed at the junction of Kenton Lane/Farnon Road but has now reopened.

A 36 year old man was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.
