Missing Sunderland man

Police are appealing for the public's help to locate a missing man in Sunderland.

The man was last seen around 1pm in Kayll Road in the city on Monday, May 15.

He had been taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital by ambulance from a bus stop in Borough Road in Hendon after suffering a head injury.  Once at hospital he got out of the ambulance and walked off in the direction of Kayll Road.

The man told paramedics his name was Joseph Rutland, aged 47, however, police believe these details may not be accurate and are also appealing for the public's help to identify him.

At the time he was last seen he was wearing an orange jumper with a pink shirt underneath, black trousers, shoes and a black barbour style jacket.
