Police investigation after death in Ashington

Police in Northumberland have launched an investigation after the death of a woman in Ashington.

At 6.48pm on Thursday, November 9, police received a report of concern for a woman at an address in Woodhorn Drive in Stakeford.

Officers attended, forced entry to the premises and sadly, the body of a 36-year-old woman was found.

An investigation is ongoing into how the woman died, however enquiries have identified that there was no third party involvement.

The woman has been named as Lisa Alderton from Woodhorn Drive in Ashington.
