Detectives hunting a robber in Gateshead are appealing for information after cash was stolen from a newsagent.

The staff member was uninjured but was left shaken by the attack.

Witnesses say the man in question is around 5’4 tall, of slim build and was wearing a dark hoody with a beanie-style hat.

Enquiries to identify the man involved are ongoing and detectives are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
