About My Role
PC Paul Westwood
I have been a serving police officer with Northumbria Police since 1995, working at Newcastle West Area Command. During this period I have predominately worked on community teams covering the Arthurs Hill and Elswick area.
I would like to think that during this time I have built up links with partner agencies including schools / housing / community groups, but most of all individual residents. I would hope those that have had dealings with me have found me both professional and most of all approachable.
I am keen to continue building close ties with residents and those that work within the area, so please get in touch if there are any issues you wish to bring to my attention.
My role as a Neighbourhood Beat Officer is to meet the needs of local communities, uphold the protection of life and property, maintain peace and encourage the reduction or prevention of crime through:
The identification of problems of crime, disorder and other quality of life issues experienced by all sections of the local community, particularly vulnerable groups.
Involvement in problem solving initiatives aimed at addressing the underlying causes of many of these issues.
Provision of a highly visible uniformed presence, aimed at reassuring the local community and reducing the fear of crime.
Please do get in touch if you have any policing issues you wish to bring to my attention.
