Neighbourhood Priorities

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

September 2016 - 1.Youth Anti-Social Behaviour - Oaklands Medical Centre Prudhoe

What you told us

Staff and members of the public have reported problems with groups of young people drinking alcohol and causing damage to the premises.

What we are doing about it

Neighbourhood Police Team Officers have been tasked to patrol the areas and confiscate alcohol from anyone underage or involved with anti-social behaviour especially between 18:00 and 21:00.  Any alcohol found is seized or poured away.

Any young people or others identified as hanging around the locations will have their names and addresses taken.  If the stops are associated with anti-social behaviour letters are sent to the young peoples parents to raise the issue with the family.

Youth outreach workers from Prudhoe East Centre are also operating in the area to engage with young people and direct them into productive activities.

Any individuals who are recognised as persistent trouble makers may be arrested, or reported for summons offences, or taken home to their parents by officers.

Any alcohol seized will be poured away and Local off-licences will be visited regularly to ensure compliance with the law relating to the sale of alcohol.

Alcohol confiscations wll be made and dispersal orders issued where appropriate (banning the individual from the area for up to 48 hours)

Acceptable behaviour agreements (regulating individuals conduct) will be used.

Keeping you informed

The above tactics have been successful previously in significantly reducing anti-social behavior.

Residents wll be kept informed of successes via the sector website, local media, leaflet drops, patrolling officers and community messaging releases.
