What you told us
Members of the public have reported problems with groups of young people drinking alcohol, engaging in anti-social behaviour and causing damage to the premises at community locations in Hexham.
What we are doing about it
Neighbourhood Police Team Officers have been tasked to patrol the areas to address anti-social behaviour at the key times.
Any young people or others identified as hanging around the locations will have their names and addresses taken. If the stops are associated with anti-social behaviour letters are sent to the youths parents to raise the issue with the family. Any individuals who are recognised as persistent trouble makers may be arrested or reported for summons offences or taken to their home by officers.
Dispersal orders may be issued where appropriate (banning the individual from the area for up to 48 hours).
Community Protection Warning Notices and Acceptable Behaviour Agreements will also be considered.
Keeping you informed
Police continue to patrol, engage and educate young people found in the area. Patrols will continue to be directed to the area at relevent times.
Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers have worked with partners, gathering intelligence to identify the individuals.
Individuals have received home visits from officers and have been warned. In addition banning letters have also been issued preventing access to specific premises,
Residents will be kept informed of successes via the sector website, local media, leaflet drops, patrolling officers and community messaging releases.
